It was just another lazy Friday when our house maid banged on my door saying there's a fire and we need to get out of the house, ASAP. (How ironic, 'asap' literally means smoke in Malay.)
You know when I finally realized I really want to be a journalist?
When there's a fire 2 houses away from my house and all I could think about was to take pictures and blog about it, not grab my stuff and rack my brain thinking what should I 'save' in case the fire spreads to my house.

More ...

Okay so technically there wasn't a FIRE fire, as in flaming one sweeping off the building. But there were a LOT of smokes. And I notice the first thing the firemen did was blast water on the roof, they did it as soon as they got off the fire truck.

(I was glad I managed to take this picture, the fireman was running here and there :P)

Even the police came.

The smoke was coming out of the bathroom upstairs.

So uhm, I'm guessing they haven't had real fire emergencies and thus, the leak? I don't know if it's supposed to be like that or there were leaks and they couldn't stop it ..

Of course. Typical.
The bystanders, the passersby.

More smoke emitted out of the windows upstairs.

Bomba = Firefighters.

These were the effects at the back of the house. I didn't know it was that serious .__.
We all have heard the 'theoretical' question; If your house was on fire, what would you grab first? Well in my case, you can be sure a camera would be in that list.
Even after all of these, after all these years, The Future will still be on my mind on those sleepless nights. The unsureness, the uncertainties. I've written all about that before so I'll spare you that rant :P
But seriously don't you just hate it when you can't sleep, staring at the ceiling, listening to the dark, and you're just forced to think things you don't want to think about? I'd cringe thinking about my past mistakes, forgotten memories, or even embarrassing moments, and of course, the future. I think that's the main reason I always read a book before I go to sleep. To avoid these thoughts screaming at the back of my mind. To escape reality for a while and think how nice it would be if life were a book, with happy endings.
