Remember when we were little kids and daydream of our prince charming? Well yeah I did that too. I list down 'what I want in a guy'. Or something like that. Ooh wouldn't it be nice to find this person? We'll live happily ever after.
But then life happened. I got the reality check. What I was describing isn't really 'what I want in the guy of my dream'. I was describing 'A Perfect Person'. And who am I to deserve a person like that? I have so many weaknesses, flaws, I don't even know where to begin.
How many times you watched a romantic movie, wishing you found a guy like the main character? Tall, handsome, can play the guitar, even wrote a song for you, sensitive, give you flowers almost everyday, made you breakfast, say something like 'From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by when I haven’t thought of you.' Blah blah blah.
Seriously. It's getting on my nerves when I read something like ;
'Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot.Who calls you back when you hang up on him,or will stay awake just to watch you sleep.Wait for the boy who kisses your forehead,who holds your hand in front of his friends.Who thinks you're just as pretty without makeup on.One who is constantly reminding you of how much he ...cares and how lucky he is to have you.The one who turns to his friends and says, 'that's her'.
I found that on someone's Facebook status and more than 10 people 'liked' it.

Aaand I found that on someone's facebook photo.
ZOMG. Please, stop. You'll need ALL of the LUCK in the world to find that. That kind of guy lives on another planet. We should stop living in a fairy tale world.
I've re-read this post too many times and just realized how bitter I sound. Like I've given up on guys. HAHAHA. I'm not. I believe The One for me is out there, somewhere. But, I don't know. Some girls' expectation of guys are too high it's amusing. I want a guy like this, like that.
Now, I'm not saying you should stop hoping The One, Mr. Right, or whatever you called him, won't ever show up. I'm saying you should stop waiting for someone perfect. Nobody is. But that doesn't mean you should settle for someone less than what you deserved either :) He'll have his days, and you'll have yours(read : PMS).
At the end of the day, all you want is someone who loves you, for YOU. So what if he doesn't buy you flowers, chocolate everyday? I found that corny. So what if he doesn't say all that swoon-worthy quotes you heard in the movies? He probably has used that on other girls before. I prefer honesty over sweetness.
The reason I was, unsure if I should post this or not is because I feel like such a hypocrite sometimes. You know how hope dies last? Sometimes I hope I will find that perfect person. Not PERFECT IN EVERY WAY, just perfect for me. If that makes sense.
That prince charming. Happy endings.
Because we don’t wish for the easy stuff. We wish for big things. Things that are ambitious, out of reach.
Guess we'll have to wait and see, huh?
Oh and by the way, the guy described above, in brown italics and in the picture, honestly, reality aside, every girl wants that.
"When I was a little girl I used to read fairy tales. In fairy tales you meet Prince Charming and he's everything you ever wanted. In fairy tales the bad guy is very easy to spot. The bad guy is always wearing a black cape so you always know who he is. Then you grow up and you realize that Prince Charming is not as easy to find as you thought. You realize the bad guy is not wearing a black cape and he's not easy to spot; he's really funny, and he makes you laugh, and he has perfect hair."
