it's my 100th post!
WOOOHOO ;)
ahh, 2010 is almost here.
because this year is one of the most important year of my life, I didn't manage to read that many books :(
I usually read before I go to sleep, after my brain is tired of studying. Haha. Not that I study a lot though. XD
but anyway, here it goes ;
(links will open in new window so you don't have to worry about not finding my blog later! haha)
BOOKS I'VE READ IN 2009.

1- The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom
Comment : Mitch Albom is just amazing, awesome, and other words that is synonymous with incredible, fits in the description. Definitely a must read for all.

2- The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger
Comment : I watched the movie first, then I read the book. Honestly, I didn't like it very much. It goes on and on about Andrea's work and what she did for Miranda. If you're fashion lover, you might be interested.

6- My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
Comment : The first novel I read by Jodi Picoult. And I must say I really LOVE it. She developed the characters very well. She wrote it from different perspectives and made me understand why she/he did this and that. And I *cough* cried.

7- A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks
Comment : Since lots of people said this book is very, very sad, I didn't even bring this book anywhere I go because I'm afraid I might just broke down in public. HAHA. BUT, guess what? I didn't shed a tear. It's just, too cliche. Please don't hate me.

8- In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner
Comment : Saw the movie long before I read the book. It's quite thick and hrm, I like it. Not love. But having a sister, I can definitely relate to the character sometimes.

9- How To Be Lost by Amanda Eyre Ward
Comment : Cool title, huh? It's quite thin, not what I usually read. But surprisingly I love this book! It made you guess, page-turner and overall very great book! and oh, I bought this book for like, RM 6! BAR-GAIN! ;)

10- Recipe For Disaster

11- The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants
12- The Second Summer Of The Sisterhood
13- The Third Summer Of The Sisterhood
14- The Forth Summer Of The Sisterhood
Comment : If last year I read the Twilight Saga, this year I read The Sisterhood Series. And it's AWESOME. I love how the author didn't make the characters perfect, or even close to perfect. The four main characters, each have their own flaws and me, as the teenagers can definitely relate to each characters very well. This series deals with real issues and I laughed, I cried. If you're a teenager, JUST GO READ IT ALREADY!

15 - Love The One You're With by Emily Griffin
Comment : I read her previous books and I love it. So I bought this book. Hrm, the book is kinda slow, and the ending is not really predictable, but it's just okay for me.

#Yellow arrow indicating my favorite books, and recommend it to all! ;D
-----------------------
overall i've read 5382 pages of books this year! Compared to 7000+ last year. oh well.
I feel so, Simon Cowell. HAHA.
That's my personal comments. Some book everybody might think it's stunning, but I don't. Some book everybody might think it's rubbish, but I think it's fabulous. haha.
It depends and different for everybody, no?
still, I have a lot of books to read!
and I want to say thank you so much to MY MOM and MY DAD for paying for these books! haha.
♥♥♥♥♥♥
I know some people say I should read more 'serious' books, rather than chick lit. Well the way I see it, if you're a teenager, read teenage books. Because when you're an adult, you can't pick up these books again. It'd be weird. So I'm sticking to read books categorized under chick lit/teenage, thank you.
any questions or comments are welcome!
ps ; if you want to see what I read in 2008, you can go here >> addicted.
"its not just other people we need to forgive, Mitch. we also need to forgive ourselves. for all the things we didnt do. all the things we should've done. you can't get stuck on the regrets of what should have happened.
Morrie Schwartz - Tuesdays With Morrie.
one of my favorite quotes ever.
I'm officially Seventeen ♥
ps; thank you SO much to everyone who wished me! i felt bad because some people i didn't even wish their birthday and they wished me. i'm so updating my calendar! ;D and i don't mind if you only know it's my birthday because facebook stated so. you took the time to wish me and i love you for that! ;)
"To me, Fearless is not the absense of fear. It's not being completely unafraid. To me, Fearless is having fears. Fearless is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, Fearless is living in spite of those things that scare you to death."
-Taylor Swift.
confession : i CAN'T STAND chick flick.
okay that's not entirely true.
still a long way before i give 'em up.
what i can't stand about chick flick is, no matter how bad the girl screws up, she'll ALWAYS get her happy ending.(read : get the hot guy)
want some example? ooh i have plenty.
1- Mean Girls.
this is THE chick flick. the good old times when Lindsay Lohan is still sober and , normal. so anyway her character screws up, she turned into one of those Plastics, and whadya know? she still gets THE guy in the end.
2- Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging
average girl, has huge crush on this hot guy whose girlfriend is a major biatch. anddd in the end, the guy realize she's the real deal and dumped his slutty girlfriend. BLERGGHH.
3- Wild Child
i love Emma Roberts. somehow i love this movie. but still, a spoilt brat, finally comes to her senses, and the guy finally realizes its not her fault the school almost burnt to the ground. yeah. in movies, that's all forgiven.
4- Lovewrecked
Amanda Bynes is hella funeehh. hrm, this is quite the other way around from #2. she has a huge crush on this major superstar, and by some miracle they got stuck in this deserted island. her best friend, a guy, a cute guy, who OBVIOUS-LEHHH likes her, but she doesnt know. and in the end, she chose the best friend over a superstar. the 'in-the-end-i-realize-my-secret-admirer-is-the-one-for-me'. YAWN.
5- She's The Man
again, Amanda Bynes. i LOVE this movie. VERY FUNNY. but its still categorized under chick flick, and thus, comes the cliche of average girl gets the hot guy in the end. -..-
6- Cinderella Story
Chad Michael Murray and Hilary Duff! ♥ but honestly, Chad's character, DOES NOT EXIST in real life. a good-looking guy, a jock, but all poetic inside. HURMMHPH ? (er, if i'm not mistaken. i kinda forget. AHAHA)
don't get me wrong, i LOVE the above movies. i'd watch it again for sure. in fact, the above movies, i've watched more than once. x)
and OH, notice any other similarities? all the above movies have the bitchy, bad, antagonist character. -_-"
why can't chick flick ends in tragedy? the guy broke up with her. he chose other girl. or the girl died. or their house burnt down. the guy hits his head hard and suffers memory loss and never recover.
i'm not anti-happy ending, but it'd be cool if chick flick can end that way. OH YEA, The Notebook did end that way. Allie did end up marrying Noah, but she has Alzheimer later when she's old. A Walk To Remember also. Jamie has leukemia and died. Nicholas Sparks' novels are awesome. i've read a few. it's not typical chick flick.
there's nothing wrong in loving chick flick. it's just, watching one is like watching a sci-fi movie. fun to watch, love all the actions, love all the dramas, but its all not entirely true. and c'mon girls, poor guys. they have to live up to girls' high expectation of guys like in the movies.
BUT THEN AGAIN, why guys are so blind ah? they see girls in the movies LOVEE when guys give them flowers, open the door for them, being all romantic and cheesy and corny but why can't they do that to a girl ?! ;p
*cough*life's full of questions without answers.
i'm not saying those type of guys in the movies doesn't exist, but its ,one in a million ? they're like fireflies. hard to find. in fact, most fireflies almost extinct nowadays dontcha think?
Characters I think are just IMPOSSIBLE to exist ;
1- Edward Cullen (Twilight Saga) [DUHHHHHHHH.]
2- Noah Calhoun (TheNotebook)
3- Austin Ames (ACinderellaStory)
boys ; we dont expect you to go watch all chick flick ever made and be THE perfect guy. but it doesnt hurt to do so. AHAHAHAHAHA jk. and girls don't wanna hear those expired, perfectly-chiseled sweet words. (well some might still be interested but not me ;p). we don't need 'sweetness' as much as we need honesty.
girls ; STOP DREAMING. EDWARD CULLEN DOESN'T EXIST. that's all.
so that's me, being all Love Guru again. a terrible one too.
with that, i shall go watch chick flick now. Adios.
If I'm not back in five minutes... just wait longer.
- Ace Ventura(Jim Carrey)
26 December,
that's the date to remember
you can give me whatever,
but here's a wishlist to make it better.
---
if you have lotsa dollars,
you can give me a New Moon calendar,
it's available at Borders,
buy it for me, i'll love you forever.

if 60 ringgit is all you got,
don't fret, worry not,
you can still get me something hot,
like a pair of high heels,I like 'em a LOT.

SPM is over, gained my so-called freedom,
but sometimes i'm dying of boredom,
so how about a Kris Allen album?
you know what i'd say : AWESOME.

no way i can afford diamonds,
unless i find a rich husband,
you know what comes a close second?
beautiful bracelets, they don't cost thousands.

one thing you need to know,
i bring books wherever i go,
sometimes i lost my bookmarks though,
so bookmarks would be great and its cheap, no?

---
i'm just doing this for fun,
i don't even expecting you to give me one,
i'm so grateful for what i've gotten,
and oh, this year i'm turning ONE SEVEN.
ps; my wishlist is WAY LONGER but i can't think of anything else to rhyme. AHAHAHAHAHA.
BIRTHDAY SHOUTOUT :
i realized i've never shoutout-ed to anyone when it's their birthday. HEH. so here's a first one!
TO Alin
17 December 1992

we first met at tuition, but we hardly say hi to each other. ;p
then somehow we ended up going to the same teknik school, which is in Seremban. we're in different dorms but she always hang out in my dorm and sometimes i went to her dorm. HEH. she's even closer to my dormmates then HER dormmates.
cut the story short, we both can't stand staying there, we both went back to Selayang(she went first, i'm still stuck there x_x) then we both go to the same school here, SMK Ideal Heights. :) so then we become very close friends!
end of story.
TO Mus:
19 December 1992

i honestly dont remember how / when / where we became close. we're in different class in SMKIH, and we didn't join the same club or anything. but i do know WHY. because we're both equally retarded people! AHAHAHA.
we both have lots of similar interest(OneTreeHill, Twilight, Books, *cough*TaylorSwift) so we can talk and talk and talk. ;p
and YES, a girl and a boy CAN be just friends, always hang out and NEVER have feelings whatsoever. full stop. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUS AND ALIN!! :) :)
LOVE YOU BOTH LOADSSSSSS! ♥

alin, me, abu, mus.
taking pictures in a photo booth, using your own camera.
see what i meant by retarded?
xD
It takes a long time to grow young.

New Mooooooon :)
right after our last paper, Chemistry, we went home, freshen up, and went straight to Jusco Kepong.
WHO WE?
me, Sonel, Alicia, An Hao, Hasnul, Mei Han, Yen Lin. 7 of us.
Yen Lin went home already when i snapped this picture .__.
fun fact : i seriously think that Jusco is the only McD-less Jusco in Malaysia. i mean, how can a shopping mall that big doesn't have McD?! even Selayang Capitol, a shopping mall that looks like it's going to be demolished anytime soon, has McD.
GOING THERE.
Mei Han's sister drove us there :)
Mei Han, Alicia, Hasnul, An Hao, me.
quite packed in the car. haha.
Yen Lin and Sonel came on their own.
so we went to TGV cinema to buy the tickets. Since we arrived abount 5.00p.m.,there's 2012 at 6.00p.m. but it's almost full house. the only seat is 6 in a row, so somebody has to sit behind. =/ or we could take couple seat, but then one ticket would be wasted since we'll buy 8 seats.
so watch New Moon at 7.45p.m. instead :) :)
we thought it'd be fuller, but turns out it's quite emptier than 2012. hahah. so we got very good seats, quite at the back, 7 in a row.
EAT.
since there's no McD,we ended up eating KFC. honestly I'm not a big fan of KFC but then no other restaurant =/ so we bought this combo and shared.
and then somehow An Hao, Mei Han, Yen Lin are still hungry, they went to this desert shop. Outside Jusco. ;p
and then there were 4. we were so bored. to kill the time went to Popular, and we totally didn't go to reference books section. wait, was there even reference books section? HAHAHA.
and we saw this translated into Malay version of New Moon, called 'Cinta Baru'. OMG I LMAO-ed. i mean like, for real?! and then what's funnier is, Twilight translated into Malay became 'Senja'.
infinite HAHAHAHAHAHA.
then we went to this pet shop, selling not very cute pets.
bla bla bla . . .
They came back from eating desert and we go inside the cinema.
surprisingly there's not many people in the cinema and when Edward came on screen, no fan girls screaming. PHEWW.
NEW MOON.
i think the movie is WAYY FARR BETTERR than Twilight. They stayed very close to the book and didn't miss out any important scene. Some scene/effects were added and that made the movie better, instead of 'wth? that was not in the book' like in Twilight. i think the movie dragged just a little bittttt long, but i LOVE it anyway. and Sonel was too busy with Jacob being shirtless. Sonel was, too disturbed with Jacob being always shirtless. Like i heard 'FINALLY he's wearing a tshirt'. AHAHHAHA. Jealous. You don't have six packs! xp
and me and Alicia were busy hoping Jacob would cut his hair already. I can't stand him in long hair! Just, eeeh.
i'd do anything just to be in the movie. Like, if i can be one of those people wearing red robes, i'd be HAPPYY. or like holding umbrellas for the cast and crew, i'd be HAPPYY. ;D
and i love the songs they used in the movie :) my favorite i think when Bella sits in front of the window and goes 'October November December' thing. that was SO LIKE IN THE BOOK. ♥
AROOOOOOOOOO!
OMGOSH, I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, WANT Johnny Depp to play ARO!
He's SO PERFECT TO BE ARO.
When i read the books, i imagine Johnny Depp as Aro.

did this myself. AHAHAHA. shall polish my photoshop skill this holiday ;p
if you've watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, you'd KNOW he'd be perfect play Aro. He plays Willy Wonka in that movie, and Willy Wonka was very pale too.
yesterday when i watch New Moon, i just put Johnny Depp's face on the actor's face. GAHHH i SO want Johnny Depp to play Aro.
ok i should stop now because it's not happening.
but anyway, i'd TOTALLY be on Team Aro if Johnny Depp is Aro. i mean c'mon, Johnny Depp and Robert Pattinson? Johnny Depp, hands down :) :)
and The Volturri is just kick-ass awesome. Dakota Fanning is great as Jane.
my favorite quote in the movie:
Jane : "This might hurt just a little."
TEEHEEE.
Overall, i LOVEEE the movie and i love going out with these people! ;D
and oh, almost forgot.
GOING BACK.
Alicia's dad sent us home. 6 of us.(Yen Lin's mom fetched her)
And her father's car is, Gen-2 i think. or Waja? heh. so it was very sardine-packed. HAHAHA.
An Hao had to sit on Sonel's lap. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA.

SPM finished, watched New Moon.
the day couldn't end any better ;)
we'll make the great escape :)
Boys Like Girls - The Great Escape is like the anthem of my freedom.
"We'll scream loud at the top of our lungs
Theyll think its just cause were young
We'll feel so alive
All of the wasted time
The hours that were left behind
The answers that we'll never find
They dont mean a thing tonight"
yea yea i know erm 5 years from now i'll probably grow out from liking this band thing. or maybe not. but hey people change. and there's nothing wrong in loving an awesome band with hot band members. HAHA.
anyway, i don't really have any plans. i mean, i do have LOTS of plan with this friends, that friends. but sigh people can only plan, but then nobody wants to do anything. or most people are not free. urghh. i'm sick and tired of ME planning everything and find people to go out with. like you miss me, i miss you, but then i'm the only one who has to plan everything. and then you said you're not free or cancel last minute.
so wanna meet me, miss me, want to watch a movie, go bowling or whatever, YOU contact me. i won't contact you unless you're worth going out with. then i'll find you until i get to hug you. HAHA.
and now i have 3 months of free time, i'm going to read lots of books! my 'books i bought but haven't read' list is wayy loonng. gotta finish all :)
SPM.
okay during the exam, there's ALWAYS songs stuck in my head and it'll play over and over again. it's like a background song. you know like in the movies there's always song playing at the back during a scene? it's like that.
sometimes it's annoying because i'd be like 'anis, shut up. turn off your mind radio' because i can't really concentrate answering the questions or even study if there's a song playing.
weirdly enough, the songs playing at the back of my mind is sometimes song i listened on the way to school, or songs i listened the night before, or even random song. like old song by Abba - Dancing Queen. HAHAHAHA.
and i just found out it's not only me. :)
i think everyone is like that. your mind just can't shut up.
COUNTDOWN.
and oh, it was almost 3.30p.m. and silly boys in front countdown-ed. and then when the invigilator said 'masa menjawab sudah tamat',(time is up) we all clapped. i clapped too. and that time i nearly cried. i dunno what came over me. it's just so, touching. like after a long run, we've crossed the finish line together :)
it's almost 12a.m now, just came back from watching New Moon. FINALLY get to watch it. will blog bout it later. since i haven't blogged in a while, i have lots of things to blog about. teehee. but now i'm off to sleep! :)
ahh, freedom. you finally came.
